THE FOUR PEOPLE BEHIND THE SCHOOL OF HUMANING ARE LIFELONG STUDENTS AND LEADERS. WE BRING DIFFERENT TOOLS, BACKGROUNDS, AND WAYS OF SEEING TO THIS WORK. WE SHARE A COMMITMENT TO OUR OWN GROWTH AND TO HELPING OTHERS BUILD LIVES THAT ACTUALLY WORK FOR THEM.
We aren’t simply business and teaching partners. We are co-owners and chosen family, deeply involved in one another’s lives. Our relationships include both the personal and the professional, which means none of us gets to hide behind what we teach.
We’ve seen each other lead, mess up, repair, and evolve as people. We are each other’s practice ground for this work.
We don’t just teach this work together. We use it with each other.
At any given moment, one of us might be holding the room, offering support, or needing support ourselves. We help one another see what we can’t see and stay with what we would rather avoid. We practice the same capacities we ask our students to practice.
None of us is here because we have finished becoming a person. We’re here because we’re willing to keep doing it alongside you.
Jen Underwood
CO-FOUNDER / LEAD EDUCATOR
Jen Underwood is an ex-therapist, former high school teacher, and entrepreneur who has built multiple seven-figure businesses since 2013. She created the Three Capacities framework to help people develop the emotional, narrative, and change capacities required to build lives and businesses that can actually hold who they are becoming. Her work is trauma-informed, somatically grounded, and relentlessly honest. She won’t hand you someone else’s roadmap or tell you to push harder. She’ll help you understand what is actually in the way—and build the capacity to walk your own path.

Tim DeSutter
CO-FOUNDER / LEAD EDUCATOR
Tim has studied energetic medicine and the impact of trauma on vibrational wellness for more than twenty-five years.
A master-level coach, teacher, and facilitator, he works with people who lead and guide others, helping them clear old patterns, hold their energetic boundaries, and stay in their own integrity while doing demanding work with other human beings.
He came to a lot of this work the hard way. Having to find his own way through a history of trauma and breaking generational patterns toward a thriving life he loves, helping others navigate their own path is one of his greatest joys.

Laura Von Wahlde
MANAGING PARTNER / LEAD EDUCATOR
Laura Von Wahlde is an Identity Integration Coach who helps people find what’s true—and has always been true—about who they are, so they can live like themselves without requiring themselves to stay the same forever, and change without wondering who they’ve become. With a background in psychology and several coaching certifications, she created the Identity Framework to help people finally know who the fuck they are—without turning every evolution into an identity crisis.

Katie Kozel
MANAGING PARTNER / LEAD EDUCATOR
Katie is a certified coach who explores how our inner worlds show up in our families, teams, workplaces, and closest relationships. Blending the VITA coaching method, Lean Six Sigma, and School of Humaning’s Emotional Leadership work, she helps clients understand challenges from multiple perspectives and experiment with new ways of relating to themselves and the people around them. Her approach balances curiosity, warmth, fun, and compassionate directness—so you’ll feel supported, but she probably won’t let you lovingly bullshit yourself.
